Nature Play Week

Date posted: 18 September 2014

Celebrate Nature Play Week these school holidays at Cleland Wildlife Park.

Nature Play SA was launched with the aim of increasing the time South Australian children spend in unstructured play outdoors and in nature.

In the space of just one generation, there has been a dramatic shift in childhood activity from outdoors to indoors driven by a number of factors including the advent of new screen-based technologies and the emergence of a risk-averse culture.

These school holidays during Nature Play Week (Saturday 27 September - Saturday 4 October), Cleland will be launching its very first Nature Play Trail, designed to help kids increase the level of engagement with nature during their visit.

In addition, every child who presents their Nature Play Passport on arrival will receive a free bag of animal food.
