Work experience at Cleland

Secondary Students

The work experience placement is a 4 day program from Monday to Thursday.

It covers 4 business sectors in the park, Animal Management, Koala Management, Commercial Services and Education Services.

The program has a focus on animal husbandry including cleaning, maintaining enclosures and preparing diets for a variety of Australian species. Students also have the opportunity to work with Commercial Services to learn about Cleland as a business and in Education Services to observe Engage, Learn, Conserve in action.

Please note: Duties are mostly outside and are undertaken regardless of the weather conditions.

Placements are taken through the school term only.

For placements in 2026 please complete an enquiry form and submit through the link below including 3 suggested dates from Mon – Thurs in the school term. 

Please note: This is an enquiry form and students are required to complete an application form before being approved to do a work experience placement in the park.

This program is for students who are studying the Stage 1 Exploring Identities and Futures subject as part of the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).
