Private Night Walk
Full park closure alert
Due to the extreme weather conditions Cleland Wildlife Park will be closed to the public on Thursday 24 January. The site will reopen on Friday 25 January. We apologise for any inconvenience.
After dark Cleland comes alive as potoroos, bettongs and bandicoots forage for food, bats wake from their daytime slumber, and wild possums come searching for fun. The park resonates with the sounds of nocturnal animals.
During a Private Night Walk, your group will explore the park bearing lanterns and torches, and see the famously shy Tasmanian Devils get their night feed. Your guide will tailor the walk to suit the interests of your group, and you’ll finish up in the Ocean to Outback Centre where you’ll have the chance to get up close and personal with one of our reptile inhabitants.
The walk takes about two hours, and coffee, tea and locally sourced refreshments will be served.
You can book a Private Night Walk for a date and time to suit your group. Tours are offered year-round (winter is a particularly special time at Cleland – just remember to dress warmly!). In addition, each member of your tour will receive a 2-for-1 voucher to visit Cleland during normal visiting hours.
Bookings are essential. Terms and conditions apply. To discuss your requirements and to plan your Private Night Walk, please call (+61 8) 8339 2444.
